Mouse Anti-Human CD14

  • CD14 (Cluster of Differentiation 14) is a receptor protein predominantly found on macrophages, playing a vital role in the innate immune system. It exists in two forms:

    1. Membrane-bound CD14 (mCD14): Anchored via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) tail (48 kDa).
    2. Soluble CD14 (sCD14): Produced either through mCD14 shedding or secretion from intracellular vesicles (56 kDa).

CD14 binds lipopolysaccharides (LPS) from gram-negative bacteria, facilitating their recognition by Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), a critical step in immune activation and inflammation. Research applications include studies on infection mechanisms, immune responses, and inflammation-related diseases.

    • Host Species: Mouse
    • Target Species: Human
    • Conjugation: Unconjugated
    • Clonality: Monoclonal
    • Isotype: IgG
    • Form: Liquid

    Purification

This antibody is purified via immunoaffinity chromatography using protein G coupled to Sepharose 4B, ensuring high specificity and purity.

    Immunogen

The immunogen is a KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide derived from the human CD14 protein, designed to ensure optimal immune response during antibody production.

    • Storage Instructions:
      • Store at -20°C upon receipt.
      • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
      • The product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
    • Storage Buffer:
      • Phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing stabilizer and ≤0.09% sodium azide.

For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. If the product is not completely clear after standing at room temperature, centrifuge before use.

This antibody is suitable for the following research applications:

  • Western Blotting (WB)
  • Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin/Frozen) (IHC-P/IHC-F)
  • Immunofluorescence (IF)
  • Dot Blot
  • Immunomicroscopy
  • ELISA

Recommended starting dilutions:

  • Western Blotting: 3–5 µg/ml
  • IHC (Paraffin/Frozen): 5–10 µg/ml
  • Immunofluorescence: 5–10 µg/ml
  • Flow Cytometry: 5–10 µg/ml

Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end-user based on experimental conditions.

Overview

The Mouse Anti-Human CD14 antibody is designed to target CD14, a critical component of the innate immune system. CD14, primarily expressed on macrophages, facilitates the detection of bacterial infections by binding lipopolysaccharide (LPS), a pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP). This antibody is a versatile tool for research into immune responses and pathogen recognition.
