Mouse Anti-Human Vimentin
- Background
- Product Details
- Storage & Handling
- Applications
Vimentin is an intermediate filament protein vital to the cytoskeleton, a structure that maintains cell shape, stability, and integrity. It is expressed in mesenchymal cells and plays critical roles in processes such as:
- Cellular migration
- Wound healing
- Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in cancer progression
In research, vimentin is widely studied for its role in cellular structure, cancer biology, and as a marker for mesenchymal lineage.
- Host Species: Mouse
- Target Species: Human, Horse, Rat, Dog, Bovine, Monkey
- Conjugation: Unconjugated
- Clonality: Monoclonal
- Isotype: IgG
- Form: Liquid
Purification
This antibody is purified via immunoaffinity chromatography using a KLH-conjugated synthetic peptide derived from vimentin protein. The immunogen peptide was coupled to Sepharose 4B for enhanced purification.
- Storage Instructions:
- Store at -20°C upon receipt.
- Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
- The product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Storage Buffer:
- Phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.4) containing stabilizer and ≤0.09% sodium azide.
For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below. If the product is not completely clear after standing at room temperature, centrifuge before use.
- Storage Instructions:
This antibody is suitable for the following research applications:
- Western Blotting (WB)
- Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin/Frozen) (IHC-P/IHC-F)
- Immunofluorescence (IF)
- Dot Blot
- Flow Cytometry (FCM)
- Immunomicroscopy
Recommended starting dilutions:
- Western Blotting: 3–5 µg/ml
- IHC (Paraffin/Frozen): 5–10 µg/ml
- Immunofluorescence: 5–10 µg/ml
- Flow Cytometry: 5–10 µg/ml
Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end-user based on experimental conditions.
Overview
The Mouse Anti-Human Vimentin antibody targets vimentin, a type III intermediate filament (IF) protein predominantly expressed in mesenchymal cells. Vimentin plays a vital role in maintaining cellular integrity, providing resistance to mechanical stress, and regulating intracellular signaling pathways. As a key component of the cytoskeleton, vimentin collaborates with microtubules and microfilaments to support cell structure and function. This protein is critical in studies on mesenchymal cells, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and cancer metastasis.
