Mouse Anti-Human Opticin
- Background
- Product Details
- Storage & Handling
- Applications
Opticin is an extracellular matrix protein predominantly found in the vitreous of the eye. It regulates collagen fibril spacing and organization, contributing to the structural integrity of tissues. Opticin gene mutations have been linked to age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and retinitis pigmentosa (AXPC1), conditions affecting vision.
- Host Species: Mouse
- Target Species: Human
- Conjugation: Unconjugated
- Clonality: Monoclonal
- Isotype: IgG
- Form: Liquid
Purification
This antibody is purified via immunoaffinity chromatography, using an immunogen peptide derived from the human Opticin protein, coupled to Sepharose 4B.
- Storage Instructions: Store at -20°C upon receipt. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Storage Buffer: 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 μg/ml BSA, and 50% glycerol.
For extended storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Centrifuge if product is not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This antibody is suitable for various research applications:
- Western Blotting (WB)
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P, IHC-Frozen)
- Dot Blot
- Immunomicroscopy
- Immunofluorescence (IF)
- Flow Cytometry (FCM)
Recommended starting dilutions:
- Western Blotting: 3-5 µg/ml
- IHC (Paraffin/Frozen): 5-10 µg/ml
- Immunofluorescence: 5-10 µg/ml
- Flow Cytometry: 5-10 µg/ml
Note: Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end-user based on experimental conditions.
Overview
The Mouse Anti-Human Opticin antibody targets Opticin, a protein encoded by the OPTC gene. Opticin is a member of the small leucine-rich repeat protein (SLRP) family, primarily present in the extracellular matrix, especially in the vitreous body of the eye. It plays a role in collagen fibril organization and is associated with inherited eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and posterior column ataxia with retinitis pigmentosa (AXPC1).
