Mouse Anti-Human CEA
- Background
- Product Details
- Storage & Handling
- Applications
Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) is a set of glycoproteins involved in cell adhesion. While CEA is normally produced in gastrointestinal tissues during fetal development, production ceases before birth. In healthy adults, the serum levels of CEA are very low (about 2-4 ng/mL). However, elevated CEA levels in the blood are commonly found in some types of cancer, particularly colorectal cancer. Therefore, CEA serves as a useful tumor marker and is widely used in clinical tests to monitor cancer progression or recurrence.

Overview
This monoclonal antibody targets Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA), a glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion. CEA is primarily produced during fetal development in gastrointestinal tissue, with production ceasing before birth. In healthy adults, CEA is usually present in very low levels in the blood (2-4 ng/mL). Elevated levels of CEA in the blood are associated with certain cancers, making it a useful tumor marker in clinical diagnostics. This antibody is used for research into cancer detection and cellular adhesion mechanisms.
